“God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And he said, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you’’” (Exodus 3:14). He reassures Moses that He is with him, which gives Moses a new identity, a new purpose, and a new confidence. God affirms who Moses is by stating His own name. “But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt’” (Exodus 3:11)?
Moses asked God “Who am I?” when commissioned by Him for a great purpose. People in the Bible struggled with this concept, as well.
